Toyota tops 70 percent of Japanese cars Nissan and Honda both made five of the top 30 models, while Mazda, Suzuki and Subaru each made one.
Mitsubishi Motors Corp, struggling to recover from a plunge in sales triggered by a recall scandal, made none of the top 30 models, after its remodeled Colt compact fell out of the list after ranking 27th in March.
Mitsubishi Motors began selling a remodeled version of the Colt last October, in a bid to turn around a huge drop in sales triggered by a massive vehicle recall and news that Japan 's fourth-largest carmaker concealed information for years about vehicle defects.
